Phone the patients up at home (including the deaf ones) saying "we are just ringing to confirm that you want to keep the appointment, if we had not been able to get through we would have assumed you did not want to keep the appointment" to a patient THEY KNOW IS HARD OF HEARING AND CANNOT HOLD DOWN A CONVERSATION ON THE PHONE
And those famous appointment cards through the worst postal sorting offices where 2 % of cards go missing, leading to 2 % of patients never getting their appointment before we start on the other corrupt practises of the nhs
Ever tried to ring up to chase an appointment you have not heard about for 3 months? The NHS staff SCREAM AT YOU IN RAGE for having the nerve to ring with such a query
So customer focussed the NHS isn't it?

The NHS does suck balls in many ways; screaming at someone for asking a question is never acceptable; however, and I know its a little thing, but I've always thought of our customers as patients...

Do you think it will improve patient care if doctors are made to think of patients as customers first and foremost?
Surely this will drive the stratification of healthcare into those who can afford to be fawned upon and those who cannot. Make it about money and you will get what you pay for.
Much of what is good about the NHS these days is down to the fact that the staff still give a toss and are willing to go over and above what they are paid to do.
i dont want them to go over and above, i want them getting good market rates for whatever they are doing
what you fail to realise is that if you behave like a human being instead of a greedy cunt who wants to gobble resources of time andtreatment "cos its your right" and "cos i pay tax" - an arguement long the refuge of the lazy work shy labour voter, the medics looking after you often go over and above to sort your probs out
