Those of us who are sitting at the front of the class and paying attention know that, of course, the NHS is not primarily about healing and curing and all that nice stuff.
Currently I'm contemplating the idea that it's a glorified job creation scheme, a project of the DWP designed to keep otherwise unemployables off the dole. Clinicians and ancillary med staff are there as beards.
