Man dies after inhaling anthrax

I wonder, was he told to piss off you don't get antibiotics in the nhs for a chest infection until you've visited the doctor at least half a dozen times? Fuck off and die cos that's gonna solve the c diff problem much better than actually cleaning the wards of the hospitals?

Fucking useless cunts in the NHS

So we have the comments

"The death rate from inhalation anthrax is very high regardless of clinical intervention. As far as I am aware there is nothing to suggest that this mans care was sub-standard.

How this example relates to everyone in the NHS being cunts is beyond me."

Which is bollocks, anthrax is routinely wiped out by antibiotics if caught early enough

The NHS are cunts because those old fashioned medical fashions like examinations and taking history from the patient have been replaced by "looks similar to the cold flu to me, we don't give antibiotics out for that, go away and come back if it doesn't clear up" if you can get to see a doc in the first place

Another related tale, nothing to do with Anthrax but brings similar issues out:

Large family on holiday somewhere in Asia, towards the end of the holiday they all develop minor cold like symptoms

At the end of the holiday half the family fly to Australia, the other half to the UK

The symptoms for the entire family get worse, sore throat, fever, etc and all of them go to different docs in Australia and the UK.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM IN AUSTRALIA WAS GIVEN ANTIBIOTICS and was symptom free within a few days

Every single one of them in the UK was given the old fuck off its a cold we don't give antibiotics for that clap trap, and went on to have a fever and bad symptoms for 2 weeks or more

NOW IM NOT A MEDIC but this demonstrates for me how fucked up and useless the NHS is, stories like this are too common place, my own experience of the difference between prescriptions from private docs in the UK and the non prescription from NHS fucktards is all there for the public to see day in day out

The lies and crap from the NHS are so obvious for all to see

THAT'S WHY THE NHS IS FULL OF CUNTS

If you don't know what your writing about, it helps to at least do a token amount of research before you start talking bollocks.

"There have not been enough cases of inhalation anthrax to know the precise anthrax death rate." and probably in the west many cases are never diagnosed as they are wiped out by antibiotics when presented as chest infection symptoms

so your own link proves you are the one talking bollocks

Inhalation Anthrax Death Rate
There have not been enough cases of inhalation anthrax to know the specific anthrax death rate for this type of the disease. Although death rates for inhalation anthrax are based on incomplete information, the inhalation anthrax death rate is extremely high, approximately 75 percent, even with all possible supportive care and appropriate antibiotics.

Only using a partial quote in order to try and prove your point! What a lame response.
Makes it somewhat difficult to believe any of your other so called facts.

everyone can see the nhs is shit compared to the rest of the western world that is the main fact you need to get your little head around

the con trick is well and truely coming to an end

Dear "No one"

I am a specialist in infection.

Inhalational anthrax is almost universally fatal despite antibiotic intervention once symptoms are manifest. The suggestion that this man died because his GP refused to give him antibiotics is quite absurd and barely dignifies a response.

Giving antibiotics routinely for self-limiting infection to satisfy the uneducated drives antibiotic resistance and other complications of antibiotic therapy. The reason for this approach is to preserve antibiotics for those with severe infection.

Most common antibiotics are extremely cheap so this is hardly a reason to withold them.

You are, quite simply, a total fool.

What a total cock
The age of antibiotics may well be over a few years due to injudicious use for sore throats and other self limiting illness. When you get pneumococcal septacaemia in 10 years time and all that the good Dr can offer is TLC (even if you "go private" or go to the States because as we all know it's sooo much better there) , you'll be cursing your presumptious, ill educated rant at your GP where you got penicillin for your sore throat because now you are completely resistant! Good fucking riddance you twat.

In the same post you complain about C. difficile and under prescribing of antibiotics.

Over-prescription of antibiotics causes C. diff.

You are clearly a very angry person and your previous posts suggest that you are terminally ill.

The truth is that people die despite the best efforts of doctors and nurses. They're not all useless cunts. They spend their days doing incredibly stressful jobs and frequently have to deal with angry people like you. People that they are trying to help to the best of their ability.

i am not terminally ill, close friends and family are, and i see close up how crap the nhs is

for my thoughts on this issue, you don't need to invent what you imagine my thoughts are, you can see them written down

and

i am angry yes, angry cos ive seen piss poor service from the nhs first hand and repeatedly

the mainstream media have mentioned the question did this chap present early to the nhs and get good advice, or was he simply sent away with the usual nhs clap trap similar to the stuff you lot have replied, it seems clear to me that for a person handling animal skins from Africa in the making of drums antibiotics almost certainly are a necessary precaution if presenting early with chest symptoms, and the standard nhs fuck off we dont prescribe antibiotics anymore is the wrong answer

and more importantly the nhs is out of step i) with other nations and ii) with its own senior medics when they are prescribing privately rather than under its own dictats - show me the evidence the nhs is correct and the rest of the world and its own consultants when prescribing privately are wrong?

lots of simplistic bollocks and top down stalinist approaches to prescribing seem to be in place in the nhs, but guess what they dont seem to be working

there are plenty of countries which dont have the c diff problem of the uk, they do simple things like keep the hospitals clean, watch for symptoms of folk they are admitting and not just shove them all in together 2 foot apart from each other, and im pretty sure someone handling imported animals skins would have got early antibiotics in many other countries

so i still think there are questions to be answered here

and i remain convinced that the arrogant responses here pretty much prove the point, you see the "specialist in infection" folk in other countries do it obviously so much better than the uk my own assesment would be that our skills in this area are in the bottom 5 % of the world

and yea get responding to my many other posts on other aspects of the nhs, the picture isnt good for you increasingly isolated nhs supporters

So why don't you fuck off and go private then?

re "So why don't you fuck off and go private then?"

thats mainly what i end up having to do

if you could let me have the tax back ive paid into this nhs monster since i get no benefit that would be appreciated

and the motivation for this blogg is the piss poor service i am forced to watch being dished out to friends and family by the sub 3rd world joke of a nhs

Over-prescription of antibiotics causes C. diff.

wrong. (I hope you aren't a doctor.)

The Mayo Clini has a helpful summary of the causes of C. diff.

No-one

Do you have any 'formal' medical knowledge or training?

I am just curious.

Anonymous said...

suddenly everyone thinks they are a dr, even the most piss poor medical student cud tell you that antibiotic over-prescription causes c.diff. the ignorance of some ppl is more than impressive

1 rude
2no understanding of double blind clinical trial evidence for treatments(eg of viral illnesses)..that is the basis for treatment not silly meaningless anecdotes about a'family going to oz'(ps gps in oz get paid for every consultation so have an incentive to inappropriately treat viral illnesses with antibiotics--so exposing such people to increased risk and increasing antibiotic resistance in the community to life threatening illness..like anthrax)
3 i've lost interest ..this blog is on the level of the daily mail with simplistic ill informed comment ..though it is worth reading for entertainment.
